So I tried searching through here and found a couple year old threads. Both of which had conflicting information in them. So can you or can you not use the Star Card for gas on Camp Pendleton. I know other bases like Mirimar and the NEX you can if you see the person, not swipe at the pump.

I ask because Star Card offers 5 cents off every gallon and has programs every so often where they will take 20 cents off for a weekend, and I think they even did it for almost a month during December.

I know you can use it at any MCCS location..and that the gas stations are MCCS, however I read from a lot of people that you cant on this base. I asked at one and it was a newer girl and she didnt know. So just wanted to see if anyone actually does use it, and how.

And Im talking about the regular Star Card, not the Master Card one. Of course the Master Card one works...its a Master Card. Seems every post like this is followed by 15 people stating how the MC one you can use anywhere...lol 

You're better off going into the gas station and asking yourself. Some people can others can't.

FOr example, I can use my husbands card to put gas, I can't use mine. 

I hear Alien has gas.

Heh, thats wierd. You both have the regular Star Cards? I tried asking at one and thats where the girl just didnt know. And I dont want to ask just for someone to say no just because they didnt know better. I figured the best way to get an answer would be to see if anyone actually does it and how they do it, like swipe the card or see the teller. That way if I do go and ask and they say no I wouldnt look like a complete idiot if I made them try. 

And Venezuelan gas is FIERCE!! 

Some bases have the availability to use the Star Card for gas. Pendleton isn't one of them. 

Well if its true you cant on Pendleton that really sucks. I put about 200 to 250 in gas per month. Would be cool to take advantage of a discount. Why would they try to make it easier to save money here.. lol. Just funny how at least on the outside we have an identical set up as the gas stations on Miramar and apparently it works just fine there.

Hell, I can buy a drink and pack of smokes at the gas station with the card but not gas lol. 

Like everyone else said, no you cannot use your Star Card... however the pumps are now set up to use gift cards. So one of the employees at the gas station said to use my Star Card to purchase a gift card which can then be used at the pumps anytime of day.

The point is the person wants the incentive. 

Well its not so much that I cant buy the gas, its the fact that they offer this discount that you cant participate in at Camp Pendleton. And 20 cents a gallon...thats a decent discount. Almost 5 bucks at 20 gallons. (Yes i know its 4) Pretty sure if you were to do that and use a gift card you wouldnt see those savings.
