So I moved here about a year ago and just started Scentsy....obviously not know how many people sell it here. So I'm making no money because no one wants to have parties. oh boy...what did I get myself into. lol Anyone want to have a party? Well OFCOURSE NOT. Sorry for whining, but I have to vent to someone. haha

RockinJanie04 --- 15 years ago -

I'm having the same problem with Passion Parties. Only i'm in MS. It's hard to stay focused when people are constantly turning you down. So far it seems as if its frowned upon here.

Going - Going - GONE! --- 15 years ago -

This is the same thing I wrote on thread you started about you starting to sell Scentsy Good luck cause you just joined the 3546513246 consultants of Pendleton LOL :P

☼J∃ηиi --- 15 years ago -

So far it seems as if its frowned upon here.  I could see the midwest/eastern side of the country being a little bit more uptight about the Passion Parties. My friend and SIL do Brown Bag (Same thing, different company) and everyone and their mother wants to have a party here in CA and AZ

☼J∃ηиi --- 15 years ago -

I'd have a party for you Wickchick but I don't really know anyone!!

Spork Fight --- 15 years ago -

im thinking about becoming a pure romance consultant out here in temecula

Country Girl at ♥ --- 15 years ago -

keep your head up, wickchick! I'm also a Consultant - joined back in Oct 2009 and know how you feel. my sponsor told me something when i joined that i didn't truly understand until now. she told me to try hard and remember that what i do today pays off tomorrow....i just recently started getting orders from a show i did back in JAN. keep your head up, for sure! talk to your sponsor about how you feel, or feel free to talk to me anytime.

I was thinking about doing Premier Designs Jewelery. Its awesome stuff, good prices and the best part is you can wear your entire inventory! lol :-)

Country Girl at ♥ --- 15 years ago -

Its awesome stuff, good prices and the best part is you can wear your entire inventory! i hear ya on that! i recently joined lia sophia & it is amazing!! i love it and it doesn't hurt to have a full supply of jewelry :)

☼J∃ηиi --- 15 years ago -

I'm supposed to go to a Silpada Jewelry party but I heard it can be pretty expensive.

Wickchick --- 15 years ago -

thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm going to try to stick it out for the remainder of my time here and maybe I will have better luck when I move back to Washington after the hubby deploys. You live you learn I guess....haha

ALEM --- 15 years ago -

for those that like silver go to www.silverjewelryclub.com

Wickchick --- 15 years ago -

I was thinking home sales would be a great idea since I have a 9 month old who always needs me. Maybe I just have to do more 'get your name out there' stuff. Any ideas?

Country Girl at ♥ --- 15 years ago -

Maybe I just have to do more 'get your name out there' stuff. Any ideas?  My friend made up a bunch of fliers and posted them around housing here. She actually had 3 people call about having a Brown Bag Party. Your totally right tho, Get your name out there! If you have cards, just leave them at random places and people will see them. Lol you could go to a mall and hand out fliers to random people too :-)

BlackBetty --- 15 years ago -

Wickchick i pmed u hope it helps. i have twin girls who need me around too i cant do anything really with out them.

Fancy Toy Parties Dot Com --- 15 years ago -

Have you tried off base or got out and advertised? I have been doing Passion Parties for 5 years now and can tell you if you don't work your company, your company will not work for you. Military wives are a great place to start, but out of all my parties I do each month, I do maybe 1 military party. Go out and put up flyers off base, pass out catalogs/samples, etc. Working a home business takes a lot of work to make it really work.

O G docswife --- 15 years ago -

i think you get what you put into it. i have sold avon for years, and i basically only sell to my family. so i make nothing lol. but i know people who are hardcore into scentsy and they do really good. but it takes up all of their time, they are doing shows, and markets, and fairs, etc.

LakerGirl --- 15 years ago -

Good luck. It seems that any of the "home based" businesses would be pretty tough in this area because every other military wife is selling something.

Wickchick --- 15 years ago -

My friend made up a bunch of fliers and posted them around housing here. Good idea!! I'm totally going to do that!

O G docswife --- 15 years ago -

you could also go around to local stores, salons, etc. and see if you can leave a catalog there and a business card.

Hello, I want a catalog, lol I got you girl!

Mer Independent Scentsy SSD --- 15 years ago -

Scentsy is a booming market. I hardly sell anything in my city. ALL my sales come from all over the US. You have to get outside your circle of where you live and work your business. Have you gone to the forum for ideas? Do you make up at least 300 fliers and samples a month? Have you filled out the 100 people you personally know list? Have you sent out emails to everyone on your contact list? There is so many more ways to make money with Scentsy than just home parties. In fact I rarely go to a home party, most of my parties are mailed to my hostess.

csusbchick --- 15 years ago -

If you aren't selling anything at all, you need to act like a salesperson and prospect. Do you have a website? You could mention on your PU profile that you sell scentsy. You could create all kinds of things with social media, etc. Sales jobs are tough but you can be successful if you apply yourself. I am a salesperson myself and I like to read up on sales skills and stuff like that to help me stay on top of the game. Good luck! =)

I wouldn't blame the product. Like others said, spread the word and look OUTSIDE of where you live! I think Passion Party products are an easy sell once you book the party but booking is the tough part. I have friends who are consultants and I plan on becoming one so I'm always thinking of ways to get more customers. lol

HappyWifeHappyLifeS --- 15 years ago -

You just need to get your name out there. Send some basket testers to your family, have an Open House, host a party and invite everyone from your hubby's unit, and do some Vendor Fairs. Try to get off base customers as much as you can. Almost everyone on base has a Scentsy Consultant or is one. If you provide great Customer Service then you will have better business. I only do Scentsy part-time since I have a full-time job but I love it and am glad I signed up. Do something for your business everyday and it will pay off.

I have friends who are consultants and I plan on becoming one so I'm always thinking of ways to get more customers. lol I agree with this. The products pretty much sell themselves at the party. I've actually been told how i'm disgusting for selling such products. When people ask I always start off with the RT line then mention the riskier products. I was also told I shouldn't have kids since i'm selling Passion Parties. I CAN'T wait till I go back home to Tx. I've got 2 parties booked there. Here in MS i can't catch a break. I still try though, its hard to find anyone outside its so damn hot. lol I've been looking for playgroups and groups of people who have the same hobbies as i do but i'm not having any luck.

I'm having the same problem with Passion Parties. Only i'm in MS. It's hard to stay focused when people are constantly turning you down. So far it seems as if its frowned upon here. Janie - Mississippi is a crazy, racist, conservative state. I was born there and thank goodness I was not raised there. My mom moved to Atlanta when I was in 5th grade and then we moved to an itty bitty town called Forsyth when I was going into 8th...so Forsyth is my hometown. But ANYways - it will be frowned upon in most places in MS and small Southern towns... Sorry OP - didn't mean to get off topic. I researched before I even considered doing Avon...and then I found out about ALL of the different branches of stuff...so I decided to NOT do it...simply because there are SO many people who do it!
