Does anyone know where civilans can get help with cost of a funeral or cremation? One of my friends dad died he had no life insurance, my friend is unemployed right now but has a small amount of savings. Thanks

Church?

Church?  That's what I was thinking. I don't know if they can help with actually burying someone cause that's expensive but some churches can help with cremations.

Some funeral homes will work on payment plans for such a reason. They'd just have to check around. Google, etc.

Some funeral homes will work on payment plans True or you could set up a fund with a bank and see if that helps.

You can look into the state funds. I am not 100% sure who it is, but when my dad passed, they said we could have used them for free for everything.

Set up a fund or church. I really wish you luck. When my mom died the only thing we could get was navy relief and then we had to take out a loan for the rest. We got about 500 in donations but that didn't even put a dent into the 10000 that it cost.
