So our neighbor in base housing has a 3 bedroom..she has her .. her husband.. her 2 kids..no biggie like they should...well they ALSO have her little brother and sister living there plus a friend of hers..im annoyed with slamming of doors..them being loud..shaking our walls ..putting their trash in our trash cans because they have so much with all them living there that they use ours as well

Im bout ready to tell the housing office..

What would yall do...

Ipswitch --- 13 years ago -

I personally wouldnt. I dont like to tell on people.
And with housing they will find out eventually. someone always tells.
I would feel bad if i told on them and something had happened and they had no where else to stay and housing made them leave. but thats just me.
Maybe try asking them to keep it down?

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

I have but there is 7 people living in 3 bedroom....

Ipswitch --- 13 years ago -

You asked them and they still havent made a change?

AnonymousWife --- 13 years ago -

Rat them out!!!!!! Who gives a f*&%

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

No..people that come for them..park in our driveway or blocking our drive way...people walk up our walk way to our door instead of theirs..they turn their surround sound up so loud it vibrates our walls and we cant hear what we have on tv..im annoyed :(

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

I have never rated anyone out but 7 people in a 3 bedroom is a little much

AnonymousWife --- 13 years ago -

OMG, they are breaking the rules, tell on them. thats ridiculous!

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

Yeah im about ready to we have our door open and people walk up like they are walking up to our door then they go to theirs..im like why the heck dont you walk up their walk way NOT ours and park in their freaking driveway

Just Sayin --- 13 years ago -

Well apparently no one has told on them lol. They need to go through the proper channels like everyone else has had to do. Maybe they have, but it's not for SB to know. All she can do is report the noise level after them not obliging and continuing their boisterous levels and illegal parking habits. Someone parked RIGHT in my driveway and went to a friends house down the block. Had there been an emergency I would not have been able to leave.

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

And i dont know if the friend also has kids who is living there...on top of the 7 already there lol

I get it. But like i said i just dont like to tell on people. But if you already talked to them and they havent made an effort then you have to do what you have to do. I dont live on base so we dont have ppl parking in our driveway. lol

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

Exactly JS my husband came home from work and couldnt get into our garage because someone was in our driveway...we have no privacy with our door open because people that come over for them are walking up our walkway and looking into our house instead of going up their side .. the walk way is like Pacific Views walk ways to the front doors

SouthernBelleMO --- 13 years ago -

We have a 2 car garage but one or the other side is blocked some days so either my dh or i are outta luck getting into our own garage

JediMommy --- 13 years ago -

Ok..You should seriously talk to them and tell them they need to stop blocking your driveaway. Plan and simple..If you are too annoyed with them then go tell housing because that is against the rules. If after you talk to them about the parking and them putting their trash in your trash and they change then just wait a little bit cause you never know the situation of the family. that is UNLESS you can not tolerate it anymore.

Giggle Butt --- 13 years ago -

What housing are you in that they can cram that many people in?

MindYaOwnBiz --- 13 years ago -

I say do it!! I would be bugged too!! it seems they have no respect for you, so why have it for them!!

Whatevergirl 2 --- 13 years ago -

You could always email housing anonymously.

2Gems4Ever --- 13 years ago -

If you talked to them about the noise and nothing was done talk to housing about the noise. As far as the number of people living there I don't think that really matters. You don't know if they have authorized them to stay there or not; which is possible. I don't know, if it's not after quiet hours with the noise there probably really isn't anything they will do. Next time they put trash in your can take it out and put it on the ground next to theirs. Next time they park go over and tell them to move or you will have their stuff towed.

Lula Belle --- 13 years ago -

My neighbors had 8 extra living with them before (in a 2 bedroom in Serra Mesa). Yea, I called on then, big deal. They're super loud with just the 3 that are suppose to be there though lol.

saywhat?! --- 13 years ago -

If it were me...I would speak to them about the issue first. Just flat out tell them if they don't start being more respectful then you will turn them into housing. You never know what their personal situation is and why they have them there. If there is a legitimate reason why they have them there then they should have no problem straightening up versus risking being kicked out of housing.

DocsWife --- 13 years ago -

I didn't read all of these comments but I think you can put in a noise complaint without having to rat them out about the extra guests. That's unnecessary, in my opinion. Also, if you have 5 children or none at all you get the same amount of trash cans so I don't see how that's a factor.

anniefannie --- 13 years ago -

I would most definitely say something! I'm all for minding your own business and not being a tattletale, but what they are doing is above and beyond bending the rules. My biggest problem with it is that it is a safety issue. One of the perks of living on base is that it is slightly safer than living out in town...everyone here is accounted for. When you start having random people live on base that is just not cool.

Amurikan Lunatic --- 13 years ago -

Message me their house number. I'll call them for you.

Donny --- 13 years ago -

Call housing and ask when the "extra" people will be leaving their house because you are tired of the slamming doors, parking spacing being occupied and trash being put in your garbage cans.

Sure they could be helping out family members in dire need or they could be profiting from them and collecting rent.

It's not your concern either way, bottom line it's become a problem for you and as a resident it's within your rights to complain.

I have a neighbor who has a friend that's been staying at their place since day 1. None of us neighbors care because he's quiet and keeps to himself. Honestly i wouldn't have even known he was living there if my other neighbors had not told me about it.

In your situation it seems like they have too many people extra staying there and have no concern for the residents around them.

CuteCurlyC --- 13 years ago -

I say call housing and let them know what is going on. There is no reason you have to live uncomfortably because of people that don't even have a right to be living there.

Charlies mama --- 13 years ago -

If they were being quiet and respectful, etc I wouldn't rat them out. One of our neighbors had, i think, two people living in their house for a few months, but they were always quiet, so I never ratted them out.

However, your situation is different in that the extra people living there is now affecting you if the are making loud noises and blocking your driveway etc. So I think you are totally within your rights to call housing and tell them what's going on.

PODA PODA --- 13 years ago -

I mean REALLY!! This is my first time living on base. When we first got here I turned the music ALL the way and stood outside to see how loud it was. I then went next door and stood by the wall that we share not loud at all and my system is very loud! You are living on base and this is things that will go on how many people she has in her house is NONE of
your biz talk to them.I did have a talk with my neighbours to see if we were loud off the bat and we have no problems. If its still a pain move.

cede --- 13 years ago -

If it's still a pain, move! Are you kidding.. she shouldn't have to have her family listening to all that bull thats going on next door! That's an inconvenience for them, and how exactly is that fair? I'd just say hey can you guys be a little bit more reasonable.. I hated when people would call on us for being loud, (out in town, I've never lived on base) and when they told us to keep it down, we did.. I think telling on them will just make them mad?

Charlies mama --- 13 years ago -

Why should the op have to move when she's not the one breaking the terms of her lease? Her neighbors are breaking the terms of the lease.
