I can tell you why you didn't get the job. You keep complaining about "professionalism" (see here--->) industry in which we are speaking PROFESSIONALISM You obviously don't know a thing about professionalism and are very immature. You're going to blame the fact that you didn't get the job on the appearances of the people working there, alluding to the fact that they aren't confident enough and feel "threatened" by you. See here: Now I don't want to hit below the belt, but have you seen the manager there??/ Well apparently I didn't reach her standards..hahaha..that is hilarious. and here: E HIRING MANAGER, my CAREER AND LIVELY HOOD was left up to some stylist who has SERIOUS CONFIDENCE ISSUES..just go in and look for yourselve's
No wonder they didn't want to hire you. You sound like you need to be knocked down a few pegs. So you think the stylists are ugly and they didn't hire you because you think you're so beautiful is what I am getting from everything you're saying. I'm willing to bet it has nothing to do with feeling threatened by you and everything to do with the fact that you sound immature, catty, and would probably throw a hissy fit every time something didn't go your way. You're not going to get every job you apply for, whether you're qualified for it or not. Be thankful that you probably don't really need the job since your husband has a secure job in the military.
Dahling..your funny, HUGE picture of your cute self..pointing fingers saying i said someone was ugly..I may have said I am a triple threat, and I have every right to that. Mind you, the stylist (1 person) who had bad input about me was treated very respectfully. She is the one who decided SHE was better, and took advantage of her authority. She said several rude remarks and refused to communicate any reason as to why i was unable to be fully interviewed. THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY IS CATTY, THAT IS EXACTLY MY POINT> Again I never was interviewed by the hiring manager.. and i also spent time with her (ms decision maker of my career) so I can tell you this much..She was definitely threatened and it wasn't because im So beautiful, like you. Stay Blessed and when you get treated unfairly one day by a person like that, you will remember me! And yes my spouse is in the service, which is why i have to keep leaving my clientele..so don't be so fast to judge...and I spoke of one person and my experience.. not everyone in the salon :)
Okay fair enough. I wish you the best of luck with your job search. Sorry for jumping the gun and being b!tchy, I was just taking what I read and interpreting it the way I did. Hopefully you find a job soon that's better than that one. I'm sure you could at least have some clients in your home and work your own schedule...I went to a lady who did hair and she lived on base. Good luck!
I really appreciate everyone's input, good and bad. I wanted to simply say that i REALLY wanted to work on base. I LOVE giving to service members and their families, I could care less that the pay is not as good as other salons. I have a passion and a need to relate to people from our community. I am currently working on a photography series called the faces of America's Armed Forces. I have taken over 500 photos of service member's and their families. So you see, my son is almost 16 I have no other children. My Passion of my work is very important. I DO KNOW MY VALUE AS WELL, AS A WOMAN AND AN ARTIST. Just because someone has a position doesn't give them the right to bash your passion or your person. Especially if it's job related. I can tell you I do not go about posting my life disappointments, this one I just had to..it really made me feel so infuriated, and if i was a rude beeatch..maybe I would understand..I arrived here two months ago so excited to be back where i raised my little boy for 8 years to find out I am not in control of my career. I do understand all the posts saying I am immature (in my thirties it actually feels good) or that I need to understand nothing is guaranteed.I know..It's just I actually REALLY LOVE BEING A STYLIST ...My clients who have been service members and their families have given me the passion I have..I don't ever want to lose that....it is goofy to say that i did get depressed and really needed to talk about it..all of the comments gave me something to think about on a day where i was lonely & sad..Thank you
Give it a rest folks, and stop beatin up on things and people you know nothing about.
I agree with a3871679uu - She should have been given a position and in the least called back and explained why it wasn't given to her!
I'm a stylist too, and when I went in and applied there, I was given the SAME attitude. I literally was 5 minutes away from the salon, and they still didn't care. I've been doing hair for 10 years, with similar qualifications to a3871679uu ...
On base jobs should go first and foremost to spouses! ESP when they have the qualifications (above and beyond in some cases) to do the job.
a3871679uu - I ended up going to Sport Clips (bleck, its fast service but its good money.) You'll make about 20-22$ dollars per hour if you work well and work fast. (Thats with tips included) They're Always hiring, and with your qualifications they'll hire you within the week. No joke. (The Sport Clips I'm talking about is in Carlsbad, they're #1 in the nation - and the $$ proves it. )
NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WHO WAS HIRED>I SAID MAYBE THEIR ARE PEOPLE ALREADY THERE, OR EVEN "RUNNING" THINGS WHO INTENTIONALLY "CHOOSE" WHO SHE THINK'S WILL "FIT IN", NOT CONSIDERING ANYTHING ELSE...THIS PERSON IS CONTROLLING THE ONLY ON BASE SALON"S APPLICATION"S... NOT BY WHAT THE COMPANY REPRESENTS, OR QUALIFICATIONS BUT BY HER PERSONAL ADVANTAGE...SHE BY NO MEANS OWNS THE SALON! IT IS THERE FOR OUR COMMUNITY! AND SHE IS NOT THE MANAGER, BUT TELLS EVERYONE SO...(H.R AT GINO MORENA TOLD ME SHE WAS NOT A MANAGER) WHAT PART DONT YOU GET? MAYBE ONE DAY YOU WON'T FIT IN AND GET COMPLETELY UNACKNOWLEDGED FOR YOUR ABILITIES BECAUSE OF A PERSON WITH A WEE BIT OF AUTHORITY>>& be able to understand... BUT I DOUBT IT YOUR KNOWLEDGE WILL GET YOU ANYWHERE ESPECIALLY WHEN SO MANY OF US DONT UNDERSTAND OUR OWN INDUSTRIES, AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSIGHT ON THIS :) Oh and there were 4 applicant's
I have never been in the salon. I did ask the lady at the Booth at the mcx opening a few questions. I will say just by her attitude and lack of knowledge of her own job did not make the salon look. I am very picky when it comes to my hair. I will not be going there.
