Why are they making you get rid of your chinchilla? Are they not allowed on base?
You can't have exotic pets in any housing area, pet or no pet. They just aren't allowed on base. A chin is considered an exotic animal. I had one for years, he is still alive, but I had to give him to my grandma once we moved on base because my lease said no exotic animals.
I dont see how you can justify coming on here and complaining about this. They are not allowed on base. You knew that moving in. Why the heck did you get it? If you already had it...why the heck did you move on base? No matter how you look at it you were breaking the rules....you cant get pissed off bc someone is trying to enforce the rules lol. Thats ridiculous!

actually when we moved on base in San onofre the lady said it was fine we even told her, she said no one is going to care it doesn't do damage or ppl complain about him he is fine, so there fore thats why we did not get rid of him, if ppl would keep thier noses out of where they don't belong he would have his home safe and sound but ppl have to be in everyones business, so don't sit there and tell me that I shouldn't complain about losing him. Ever since we moved across base to mountain district nothing but problems for me and a couple of friends, one lost her chin and her cat bcuz yeah she had two dogs but ppl in Onofre did not care up here its horrible, if the chin stays in his cage comes out every day in his ball or locked on the stairs no damage done it shouldn't matter I seen dogs do more damage than a chin.

Im sorry, but I am going to sit here and tell you that you shouldnt complain about it. Sure it sucks, sure if people didnt tell on you then it would have been fine. However....it is a rule that you cant have them. So what if some chick said it is fine as long as its not bothering people. Thats not what it says on the housing paper, therefore, that is not the rule. Complaining about being turned in for breaking the rules is like complaining that you have to go to prison bc you committed a crime. You broke the rule/law now you have to pay for it. Go ahead and complain...just know that it is not justifyable.
You broke the law-and the law won. You're hating on someone for doing their civic duty and reporting? If you're dumb enough to get caught then you deserved to get caught.
What housing was this
santa marg no caged animal besides birds is allowed on base
That sucks, but those are the rules. If he's that important to you move off base :)
OMG!! WTH?!?!?! They are enforcing a stupid rule about a chinchilla, but they won't enforce other rules like noise ordinances, dogs barking people renting out rooms to other single Marines... WTH?! I'd bring that up, and throw a fit! That's not fair! You can't pick and choose what rules you want to enforce!
