...Or do you know anyone who has? Can you suggest a place to go for a 3d u/s? How was your experience? And do you know how likely it is to find out the gender that early with a 3D? 

When I looked into doing a 3D ultrasound, the place I looked into suggested doing the ultrasound between 28 and 32 weeks to get the best pictures of the baby. 

To find out the gender of your baby, you must be at least 14 weeks. Also 3D ultrsounds are recommended later in pregnancy when facial features and such are more developed. 

I had my gender ultrasound at Unique Ultrasound in Temecula and they did a quick 3D of the baby near the end. Honestly he looked like a newborn puppy. Really weird, couldnt see the eyes of anything. Not recommended lol 

Definitely wait until later. I just had one done because scripps got new machines, so mine was free ;) and I'm 27 weeks it was amazing.

At 13 weeks its still too early to tell gender. There is that "angle of the dangle" theory but its not 100%. They both have a nub at that point. I wouldn't pay to do 3D for a gender scan. I would wait until later to see what the baby actually looks like. At 27 weeks we can see that my son looks just like his dad. 

I did it around 15 weeks, we went to picture of an angel. We found out gender (later reconfirmed it was right by hospital) and got 2 color pictures, dvd, 2 black and white pictures, *special gift was a can of formula. It was around $70.00. It was great, if you could do it more than once go now and back when you are further along. It was a great experience but wish I would have gone twice to see better facial features, at that stage the baby just kinda looks like an alien. lol.
