I am delivering at the NH and I have heard rumors that either the delivery or recovery room (not sure which they were talking about) was a shared room, 2 beds for you and another patient. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Also, do they have a nursery to take the baby while you shower and such?
Thanks in advance!

I just had my baby on Nov. I had a c-section. So I'm not sure how the delivering room is like but the recovery room was big. I didn't share and my husband and baby were with me all te time. The baby stays with you all the time no matter what. If they need to do a test or something that he/she need to leave the room they take one of the parents.

Our recovery room was a huge double room....but I got it all to myself.

You don't share a room with delivery or recovery. And the baby will stay with you at all times unless needed for testing.

Thanks for the input ladies, I am glad to hear you don't share a room... I thought it sounded a little "outdated" but just thought I'd check since we had our 2 older kiddos off base, you ever know what the military might throw at ya ;).

An my husband and baby were with me all te time
So they will let your husband stay the night with you? Again, another bit of misinformation I got was that they wouldn't let him stay the night.

Yes he can stay with you the whole time and over night! My mom was here too, but wasn't allowed to stay the night..

Yes, they let your husband or whoever is staying with you to stay over night. We have 2 older girls and they were allow to go visit but not stay past 9p. The only thing is that they don't feed them only you and baby( if bottle fed). But I think that's all hospitals.

You get your own recovery room, unless they're overcrowded, then they start doubling up. But that doesn't happen too often, fortunately. Baby stays in the room with you, there's no nursery. And one guest is allowed to stay overnight, and they must be over 18. Official visiting hours are over at 9 pm but they're not too strict on that as long as you and your guest(s) aren't a disturbance.
