I am looking for someone to help me with my daughter's hair. She has tight curls and is outgrowing the relaxer that was in her hair. I am trying to find a salon or someone that know what they are doing with her type of hair. I found the Oceanshine Salon on google but it seems very expensive. So I am looking for some more suggestions.

What texture of hair? Also what race? What kind of style are you looking for?

She has really tight curls that is hard for me to keep moisturized. She is mixed with Cuban and Dominican. I just need to find something to keep her hair moisturized and bring out her curl, if possible.

Mixed Chicks is a great line for ethnic hair they have a complete line. My daughter is mixed Colombian and caucasian. She has tight curls as well. I love the leave in conditioner it really defines the curls. You can order it online or in ethnic salons. In LA and the bay area you can buy it at Sally's but not in this area.

PLEASE take her to a professional! It sounds like you're at novice at hair care for her particular type of hair and that's fine, but a professional who understands her hair will get you on the right track. It's hard to find salons in this area that specialize in ethnic hair, so you may have to make a trip to LA. Relaxing hair or growing out a relaxer means a lot of things to hair and if you're not careful you'll really damage it. Addressing that issue should be the first concern, not so much finding her curl pattern. Coarse hair is fragile and requires extra care. Transitioning hair is extremely delicate. Make an appointment with the understanding that you want to learn how to care for her hair and then you can choose products on your own. Take a notebook. If they can't teach you about her hair, they aren't very good. Once you learn the basics, there's plenty of information available online to keep you on track. Most products sold at Sally's aren't worth purchasing for ethnic hair. They are pretty low end with a lot of chemicals that damage hair.

I really appreciate all the advice. I think I will have to broaden up my search.

Mixed chicks is a great line. I'm Mexican and African American,my hair is thick and curly. The mixed chicks products work great on my hair.

My little girls are puerto rican and black. I have curly hair but nothing like my oldest. Her hair is tight curls and shrinks when it drys. Go online (youtube and google) and look up naural hair care. I found so many different natural oils that are not only healthy for the hair but help maintain moisture. The problem is you need to balanc out your daughters ph balance in her hair. There are some proucts that are all natural that you can just purchase but it is not expensive or even time consuming to make it your self. Since I have used all natural on my daghters hair it is much more hydrated, she doesn't shed as much, i can comb thru it even after it's been styled, and it is over all much more managable and less frustrating.
