Base legal vs civilian lawyer? Besides cost....Tia

CivMP --- 12 years ago -

Base Legal only helps out with uncontested divorces.... if either of you contest, then you need to get the civvie lawyer... or agree to disagree and use the base

Not contested

Does base legal take longer??

Donny --- 12 years ago -

base legal is only quicker in the sense that non-contested divorces get finalized quicker.

If you're filing in California, there's still the 6 month minimum wait time regardless of whether or not you use base legal. If you're uncontested, you can always do the paperwork and file yourself.
