Just wondering if anyone knows of any good places. Last year I bought my dress at Nordstrom, I was thinking about going back there but I was hoping I could find other dress shops too. I don't like a lot of beading, sequins, or glitter. I want a dress that's simple and elegant. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you ladies might have! :) 

Well I love Nordstroms, but I purchase my gowns online from there. Their tools to find the right fit for your body shape have never failed me. 

There is the Alfred Angelo (spelling) shop near Michael's. 

Check thrift stores and consignment shops. Upscale Resale has some nice dresses there not as cheap as a thrift store would be since its all consignment clothing but they really do have nice stuff. 

It might be too late depending on your ball date, but I've been ordering from lightinthebox.com. Their gowns are EXCELLENT quality! Also many great sales. I got mine this year for $145 including shipping. But it takes around 2 weeks for delivery since they come from China. 

I found my gown from a thrift shop.
