So my husband just got orders to 13MEU in Camp Del Mar. Anyone(self or spouse) with this Unit? Any info on upcoming deployments and such?

I was with the 13 Meu from 08-10 be prepared for your husband to always be out in the field and working long days especially if his mos is anything communications. If he is communications then he would be the first one at work and the last one to leave. Overall though I think he would really enjoy it. I loved it there! 

okay :) he works in fiscal so I know he will be working hand in hand with supply and the like. He checks in in a week so Im trying to find out if there is anything he or I should know :) 

My husband works at 13th MEU. Its not bad at all as of right now. Idk how it will be when they are busy. They deploy next year. They will have down time to take leave before they get busy with all the units attaching to them for the deployment. That's pretty much all I know. Are u going to be living on base? 

My husband is with a unit now that will deploy with them, but will be transfered before the actual deployment, thank god! They did "cold weather" training, up north, and hot weather training in 29 palms, this summer...I hear that about 6 months or so before they deployment, it gets harder, and they are never home. Also that there is VERY little comunication on ship..good luck to you, and I hope it goes fast for you guys. 

@mycrazylife- we live off base in vista right now, he is with another unit at CP right now, i have never went through any deployments with my husband, just long term seperation.. like when he was in okinawa unaccompanied(dating in 2006-08) and when he was in VA from 09-2011 unaccompanied bc we got married in the 2 week frame that he was home from oki headed to VA.. but I am local to southern CA :)
