I did try to search for an answer but didnt see one so my question is if you do not have a house assigned to you before moving how can you forward your mail? We are coming from Okinawa so we want to put in our forwarding information as soon as possible but have no idea when (or even if) we will get a house assigned before we leave. So do they have temporary PO Boxes or something like that? Any help is appreciated, thanks! 

The post office can hold your mail I believe. Check their website. 

Hold it here or there? We know they can hold it here but then it will really take forever for it to arrive at CP. Coming over here was easier to do this because our mail goes to a central post office and we go there to pick it up...like a mailbox center. 

Do you know anyone in the states you can forward it to? Most bills and things you can sign up for paperless billing and have it sent to your email. That could help some. 

Have it forwarded to "General Hold" at the post office in Oceanside. Then all you have to do is go into the post office and pick it up.
