Hi all,
This is my first time posting. My hubby has orders from Lejeune to Pendleton (1/4) for June/July. What is the closest on base housing? He is an E6. Also, what off base areas are close to that unit? Any other info? How is the job market? I have been an insurance agent here for 6 years. We have a 4 month old baby. Dreading the move, but looking forward to a change of scenery. Thank you in advance for your help!! 

My husband is with 1/4 right now. He will be joining them after they get back. 1/4 is in Horno which is the top end of base. Your closest city is San Clemente. The housing area is San Onofre for base too. The job market is pretty sketchy, but not sure for an insurance agent.

I was an insurance agent a couple of years ago and did the same thing you are doing. I moved from WA State to CA. My recommendation is to look for a job "sponsered" by another agent. For example, State Farm. Agents are always looking for licensed staff. The reason I think you should take that route is because more than likely they will pay for your school, licensing, and fees. 

If you do like the idea of that call the local Field Office (San Diego or Orange County). They will have a list of agents in the area hiring staff. Good Luck! 

My husband is with 1/4 as well, but we live down in Oceanside since it is cheaper than living up north closer to where he works. The job situation, I have no idea. Good luck though! 

My husband works at horno and we live in stuart mesa, use to live out in Oceanside.. its about a 30 minute drive to work from our house for him. Really isnt a difference from San Clemente.. San Onofre is about 10 minutes closer though 

The job market sucks here but I will say I see jobs in insurance are posted pretty regularly on craigslist especially with state farm
