So my husband just deployed, well he is at leather and has the px there so he told me not to send care packages since he can get stuff there. Im really sad because I was super excited to do care packages and now I cant, of course ill be sending him some stuff that he cant get there..what would you do? I asked the FRO if theirs any wives/families who cant some how afford it so I can send some stuff. Is it weird im sad about not being able to send care packages lol

hihi --- 13 years ago -

No... I heard stuff was supper expensive . I would mail it anyways!!!lol

Donny --- 13 years ago -

Just send it, if he doesn't use it i'm sure he'll pass it out to the guys he works with so it'll find good use regardless.

My husband was at Leatherneck too, but he loved care packages. He looked forward to every box he got.

Stuff is expensive out there. My husband has now spent $1200 and hes been gone since late Spetember.

^^^ how? I over stalked my boo before he left; 90$ worth of razors(Costco) 5 large tubes of tooth paste, lots of gum/gummy bears/Oreos, sexy pics, a netbook, foot salve, Tagamet, baby wipes, five cans of shaving cream, & that's all I remember so far.

send it. its not just whats in the box but receiving a package and having the other guys joke around while asking what he got

stock up on sales when you see it, razors and socks, energy bars etc

i sent mine everything from snacks/socks to camping chairs, footballs and even a microwave once

My husband probably spent $250 or a little more every month there. He would buy cases of energy drinks before going on convoys and they ate up a lot of $$$ (they definitely cost even more over there). Even though there is a px there, they don't have everything, and they ran out of the 'good stuff' fast.

My husband is remote & honestly the only thing he has bought was calling cards & Internet access before he got to where he is now. Told me not to send any food, said he's eating ok.

BadMomma you sound like me. My husband loved his little 7X7 inch electric skillet and chair. He also loved the bedding and real pillow I sent. I sent anything I could to help give him the comforts of home. I had so much fun walking around stores looking for things I thought he'd like. I would even decorate the inside of boxes. Sending care packages was as much therapy for me to make and send as it was for my husband to receive (and feel loved and missed).
