Pepper spray


A mother of three shot pepper spray to keep shoppers from grabbing a video game system she wanted during a Black Friday sale, leaving 20 people with minor injuries, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:20 p.m. Thursday in a crowded Los Angeles-area Walmart as shoppers hungry for deals were let inside the store.

Police said the suspect shot the pepper spray when the coverings over the item she wanted were removed.

"Somehow she was trying to use it to gain an upper hand," police Lt. Abel Parga told The Associated Press early Friday.

He said she was apparently after an Xbox 360 and used the pepper spray to keep other shoppers at bay.

Officials said 20 people suffered minor injuries. Fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske said the injuries to least 10 of them were due to " rapid crowd movement."

Parga said police were still looking for the woman who was with her children at the time and reviewing surveillance video of the incident.

The store remained open and those not affected by the pepper spray continued shopping
 

Wow that's outta control! 

omg lol. When i got home this morning that was on the morning news. Happened in LA right?

Only exciting thing i saw was two men bidding on a ticket for the 42" Sharp LCD that was selling at Best Buy for $200. A guy in the front of the line got the ticket and walked the line offering it for sale. Two men started bidding on it and it got heated. Last number i heard was $150 for the ticket, but then the rent-a-cop's rolled by and the guy with the ticket split.

I saw Barbies fly! I swear people were throwing them in the air! It was ridiculous. One lady was screaming because she didn't get a $3 waffle maker. Thats about all the excitement I saw. We got what we wanted right away and our only problem was we got stuck. No one would let us out of the area we were in.

I think a lot of people over buy and go bananas when they go out and black friday shop. The one and only year I went, I over shopped because everything was "such a good deal". lol. The only thing I saw that year was too many people in one place!

We are guilty. We only went in for a microwave (which wasn't even part of the big deals) and came out with that and a Shark steam mop (which I have been wanting) and like 50 movies. I got a couple Christmas gifts too but wasn't thinking at all about how I am going to get them home from NC to CA. Going to take them back tomorrow.

i never read the books but there was a HUGE crowd at the store when the last book came out and there was a mad rush and i went into "i dont know what it is but i must have it because everyone else wants it!" mode

walked out of the store without buying what i went there for, standing there holding the last HP book and thinking "bugger, ive not even read the first one yet".

had to walk back into the store to buy all the other books - still cant believe i fell for it 

Hahaha Hilarious! That's exactly what happened. I got into excited mode and just wanted to be a part of it!
