I thought the title was asking if you agreed with legacy names...like naming a child after someone. Guess I was confused...but I don't really care for it as a name.
Dislike in English. Now maybe Legacy in Celtic since I'm irish, I don't know. If they really love the name, try it in a different language that is part of their ancestry.

I have a name like that (ya know, a word, not a "name" per se).
I veto it. I absolutely hated my name for most of my life. I'm okay with it now becuase after 28 years, I've finally learned to say "this is my name. live with it"---but I still am smart enough to know that I have to go by my middle name for job interviews/apps because I will NEVER get a call-back with my real first name on it.
I have tested this by applying for the SAME position with 2 different identical resumes with the 2 different names. My middle name ALWAYS gets the call back.

Im sorry but thats a little funny. My name is sooo damn common that once I had a call back for a job, and they made the mistake, they thought they were calling the other ******* that applied for the job. Its taken me yrs to just accept my name is the same as everyone elses. It I would have stayed at my 1st highschool I would have graduated with 25 other ********'s!!! Thankfully I moved and only graduated with 5! I purposfully named my boys semi-odd names.
My son's names are very unusual. Not weird (they're real names and spelled properly!) but they are rare.
My name is like unheard of. And definitely has connotations. Its just miserable at times. I have called for pizza and been hung up on. Got my pizza free when I showed up with my friggin ID, though. Showed them :D
I have a cousin named Happiness. She goes by Happi. I think she embraces it as best possible but she definitely made sure to give her children "normal" names.
My parents SUCK. I haven't seen my dad since I was 12 and when I told my mom I was losing my 3rd baby (I had a loss, my son, and then was going through another loss at that time) she said "maybe its God's way of telling you that you can only handle having one kid"
She's special.
However, my hubby and my son have made up for all the crap i went through in middle school. Now I'm just me. I'm not my name.
yeah, I still go by my name and have never changed it because I figured that if I made it through middle school alive with that name, I darn well deserve it now :D
Although, I still get "REALLY?!?" every single time I introduce myself, haha.
I have two maiden names (parents never married)and one of them is a four letter word that if you take off the first letter you can make a lot of "fun" words - *uck....the list goes for days. Kids can be so cruel.
