Housewife Say What --- 7 years ago -

????????

YeaOk --- 7 years ago -

Thats not nice.

HappyOLmE --- 7 years ago -

Declaw a dog take their nails off??

puppylove --- 7 years ago -

I'm sure you can but why would you. It's painful for the dog

My dog had to have surgery on a nail to remove part of it and it took months for the foot to heal. He might have to have the nail removed now but we are trying to save his nail

Declaw a dog take their nails off??

Yeah, I don't think they do that at all.

HappyOLmE --- 7 years ago -

Well I figured it would be a surgical procedure

foxed --- 7 years ago -

How in the world would you ebbber justify doing that?

Cindyisback4U --- 7 years ago -

you can, Im not sure how much. i just trim my dogs nails

HappyOLmE --- 7 years ago -

Where the pup won't feel it like anesthetic

YeaOk --- 7 years ago -

We get the question. I have never heard of anyone declawing their dog.

Sarah H aka Boot --- 7 years ago -

Why would you do that?

HappyOLmE --- 7 years ago -

I've tried trimming filing everything she's a American bulldog so she keeps scratching my boys and myself

CourtesyFlush --- 7 years ago -

Oh em gee. Declawing any animal is just absurd imo.

HappyOLmE --- 7 years ago -

Country girl I'm sure you can try asking the peds:)

Housewife Say What --- 7 years ago -

my daughter keeps scratching me Can I declaw her?!?!

Lol, I know, I have to wait for my son to fall asleep before I can clip his nails. They grow so fast and he has scratched me so many times on accident.

Cindyisback4U --- 7 years ago -

it can only happen with in 5 days of the pups birth.

Housewife Say What --- 7 years ago -

See, I have heard about cats so that I guess wouldn't have the same shock factor since I have never heard of any one declawing a dog. I have heard of getting the little side claws removed on Pugs so they wont scratch their eyes, but that's it.

puppylove --- 7 years ago -

Take her to petco or petsmart have them do it. They will get the nails shorter.

Also if you remove the nails they will grow back unless part of toe bone is removed so it is very painful for the dog once he is out of surgery. My puppy went through nail surgery once before because he had a growth that needed to be removed and mow he might need his nail removed because the grow back. The first surgery it took 2 months for his foot/toe to heal. So it's not an easy surgery at all.

my daughter actually doesn't mind me doing it lol.. she will sit there and hold out each finger and her foot then I have to paint them after lol.. she loves it.. oh and i have to throw in a foot massage or she will flip out lol.. spoiled pampered stinker!

YeaOk --- 7 years ago -

She is a dog. You are the owner train her not to scratch you. My 11 month old scratches me and Im not going to denail her because she doesnt know any better

I don't even agree with declawing a cat.

Sometimes he will sit still for me, sometimes he wont, I just find it easier to wait until he falls asleep, lol.
