POLL: Are they right or wrong?

Sears shared a link to a third party that sold Ipads for the wrong price. When they realized their mistake, they decided to refund all of the customers. Customers are now complaining on the Sears fb page because they think that the company should honor the price. Do you think Sears and the third party are right or wrong?

Yep honor the price..Uless of course, it was a HUGE price mistake

It's not like they made them pay the difference, they returned their money so I feel that the problem is now resolved. It would have been nice to have the cheaper price, obviously, but that would probably cause a controversy somehow too. It's a lose lose for them.

PETCO constantly has things for the wrong price online, they have fish tanks listed for 1cent and we tried ordering a filter that they had listed for pretty cheap and they just wouldn't process the transaction! Stores are so stupid!

I voted other, btw, because I don't like the comment "the customer knew the price was too good to be true" for some reason.

Well.. the COMPANY should honor the price. I don't see how Sears should do anything since it was just a link shared.. How were they to know the company mis-advertised?

I have worked in retail for almost ten years. It's pretty much the first unspoken rule of retail. If the price is marked wrong and its clearly not the customers fault, you honor the lower price. I have been told that at every retail store I've ever worked at. And I've worked for sears. I feel they've already fixed it if they gave refunds. And yes I think if they were to just sell the lower price, they'd lose too much money. They don't make hardly anything on electronics as it is. So if it was a substantial difference, the store would lose money and any company has to prevent a loss. Taking less profit is not the same as taking a loss. Also, performance SUCKS! they have the worst service I have ever experienced. Every performance I've been to has been understaffed and employees look miserable. Once, my hubby and I went to one at around four pm, way before closing and new couldn't find a single associate in the entire store. We had to ask the one lone grooming girl to help us. Pathetic.

The comments on their facebook post are kind of funny. I don't know how much they advertised it for. One comment said $1, but I think they were kidding. If it was actually $1, the customers had to know that they weren't getting an Ipad for $1. That's why I said "too good to be true" for an instance like that.

online has come along and changed the rule. It happens often online and stores don't care.

I don't see it as Sears' fault. The company definitely messed up though! They should honour the price

Oh, online. Yeah that is different. I don't think it should be but it's true that they often don't honor it then

They got their refund. They're just mad they didn't make a killing. Get over it.
