Mine moved at my 26 weeks but had it not moved, C-section it was.

3Js mommie --- 14 years ago -

Mine was low laying, but it moved up by itself!

Shonda --- 14 years ago -

as it still low after 28 weeks?

Jack Hass --- 14 years ago -

Yep. I had another ultrasound at 26 weeks and it had moved out of the way by then.

Shonda --- 14 years ago -

I am 28 weeks now and still low. That's what I'm asking anyone have issues delivering with the placenta low.

I don't think they will let you deliver(vaginal)with a low lying placenta. I could be wrong through!

They made my SIL have a C section

Shonda --- 14 years ago -

Its not blocking the cervix, but its still low. Ugh I don't want a CC. I won't have any family nor my husband here to help. I'm stressing a bit!

Charlie --- 14 years ago -

Shonda don't stress about it if its not blocking your cervix you should be okay. I had a low lying placenta thru out my pregancy I did not have to have a c section. I had to be careful but your Dr should advise what not to do and things to watch for.

Shonda --- 14 years ago -

True story although I was planning on having a water birth at a birthing center and now I think it may be best I go to a hospital...just in case. :(

Charlie --- 14 years ago -

I would not give up on water brith if that's what you want. Just talk to your Dr and do your research about it. I believe the biggest problem with low lying placenta is it can cause bleeding which can cause complication for you and the baby.

I just found out today that my placenta is right next to my cervix, not covering though. Thanks to reading this thread yesterday I wasn't freaked out by it!

How many weeks are you?

Miche Mom --- 14 years ago -

C-section

whatevergirl2 --- 14 years ago -

Shonda- I am 20 weeks today.

MySweetBabyBoy --- 14 years ago -

I had low lying all the way up to 37 weeks then it finally moved out of the way. I was already booked for a c-section but they cancelled it. I ended up with one anyway for different reasons, my son's head was too big for my pelvis and was stuck on my pevlic bone.

MySweetBabyBoy --- 14 years ago -

But if it ended up not moving you will have a c section at 38-39 weeks so you don't have a chance to go into labor.

whatevergirl2 --- 14 years ago -

Did anyone get told just how close your placenta is to your cervix? My dr just called me. Also, was everyone else put on complete pelvic rest, told to take it easy and watch for bleeding?

CharmCity --- 14 years ago -

Has anyone ever had a pocket of blood attached to the placenta? Did it go away, cause a problem, grow etc etc?

whatevergirl2 --- 14 years ago -

I had a very large Subchorionic hemorrhage. I think you is different though. What is the official name of it?

whatevergirl2 --- 14 years ago -

Bump for my question yesterday:

I wasnt told anything, i had to get the reports from the NH myself. I have an U/S on the 8th so we will see.

whatevergirl2 --- 14 years ago -

Weird. Who do you see there?( You probably answered before and I missed it.)

It may not be low enough to cause concern...You can have a low Lying Placenta and deliver normally it just depends on how low it is at teh time labor starts,t heyw ill do an US probably the week before to decide if it is safe...

Do you have other kids? A C-section is not as bad as people think! I had one and had 0 help at the hospital and have 4 OTHER kids also, after delivering via c-section we were out site seeing in Hawaii the day after I got released and 1 week later we flew with all the kids back to Japan from Hawaii...I did tear my incision open on day 4 by playing to rough eith my 3 year old but a few staples and more careful lifting and we were fine. You will do great either way! Focus on the positives you want whats best for you and the baby!

3 out of 4 of my SIL's boys were C-section and she said she prefers it over natural. Her main reason the give you drugs lol and she said the recovery is better. After her last one she was up and kicking the day after she had him like nothing had ever happened.
