Hubby just got word that they are going to be sending a lot of Marines on recruiting duty, He says it has to do with the Dont ask dont tell policy. 

Is he talking about the HRST? 

He didnt mention the HRST, just that he was talking to his gunny and he may be asked to do recruiting duty if he decides to reenlist along with a lot of other guys 

The HRST is when the Marines get flagged for recruiting duty. They do it twice a year and once a Marine reenlist once, depending on MOS and other things, most Marines get flagged. It's been going on since before DADT because a "hot issue."

Did yall know that 1/3 of the MOS's are being closed out and first enlistment Marines wont be allowed to re up if they have those MOS's? One of my friends is struggling with the fact hes being made to get out because of it.

Sorry, I use to be a Career Planner and I don't like it when Marines say they're getting screwed over because they waited. (Not saying he is, just generally speaking.)

How long do you think the Marine Corps will be downsizing for? At least they're not doing it like the Navy and sending 16,000 P02's to a board to see if they get to stay in...although maybe they should.. 

Who knows, I don't know the details. What I got from it came from my friend and my husband. They said it was a budget cut Obama put in place. If I'm wrong and someone has more info please let me know.
