Husband took the liberty of doing laundry this morning, but failed to take the chapstick out of his cammies pocket and TWO loads got washed and dried with a tube of chapstick. (well the second load only got dried with it because he didn't see it in the dryer from the first load).

I have tried letting spray and wash soak for about 2 hours and then rewashing with no luck. I also went and bought the Tide Stain Release pouches and tried that twice (2 cycles with detergent) and the clothes STILL have light grease spots on them.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am totally at a loss :(........... Darn you husband and your "good deeds" lol.

Anyone have any suggestions?

1 Scrape off any excess ChapStick with a credit card. If you leave large chunks of ChapStick on your clothes, it will continue to spread to other spots on your clothing.

2
Pre-treat the stain with a pretreatment aerosol stain remover. Leave on for at least 30 minutes.

3
Rub heavy-duty clothes-washing liquid into the ChapStick and wash in hot or warm water. Check the stain after laundering to see if it is still present.

4
If the stain is still present, rub a small amount of Dawn liquid soap directly on the ChapStick stain and leave on at least overnight.

5
Place the stained clothing in a warm or hot cycle and wash as usual.

6
Remove clothing from washer and inspect the ChapStick stain. If the stain is still there, rub Goo Gone onto the stain. Leave on for at least an hour, then wash again

Laundry
1
Spray some stain remover over Chapstick spots on the garment. Allow the stain remover to sit for 15 minutes.

2
Pour a little liquid laundry detergent over the stain and rub it into the stain with the soft brush. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.

3
Wash the clothing item, but do not place in the dryer. Take the item outside and inspect the item. If the stain remains, continue with stain removal methods. If the stain is gone, dry as usual.

4
Place the fabric face down on a table or other surface. Pour a few drops of dry cleaning solution over the stain and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Wash the item. If the stain remains, continue on with removal methods.

5
Apply a few drops of candle wax remover on the stain. Test a hidden area of the item first to make sure the wax remover will not damage the fabric.

6
Allow the wax remover to soak for 30 minutes to an hour. Wash the item. The stain should now be completely lifted. If a small amount of stain remains, repeat the candle wax remover step.

Dryer
1
Place a few drops of dish soap over a soppy dishcloth. Wipe the inside of the dryer with the soapy water.

2
Rinse the dryer with a cloth dipped in clean water.

3
Throw a couple of dryer sheets into the dryer and allow the dryer to run for about five minutes to dry out the inside of the dryer. The Chapstick is now removed from the inside of the dryer.

One is for chapstick and the other is both the chapstick/dryer.

Thank you! I'm going to try the dawn dishsoap and let it soak overnight. I tried googling it earlier and could only find wax stains. Never crossed my mind chapstick IS wax based. Duh. Lol.

Thanks again.

If it helps, my husband took the liberty of doing laundry today too (bless his heart) BUT.....he washed my work uniform 20 minutes before I had to leave the house to be at work....let's just say I was pissed.

You can also iron it out with a towel, like removing candle wax from the carpet, just use an iron and a towel, itll come right up
