Does anyone know the new requirements for registering dogs on base? I'll be moving down there in Dec. and would like to have both the dogs ready before I get there.. what vaccines do they need? Microchip?

Thanks in advance!

When we lived in 29 Palms they had to have a microchip and rabies for sure. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Vaccines: Rabies and DHLPP. And they need a high frequency microchip, which you can get done at the base vet for $25 or so. It's also a good idea to have your dog fixed. For a year, the registration is $10 (if they're fixed).

From the site:

Q. How can I register my pet on Camp Pendleton?

A. You must obtain registration tags at the Animal Shelter (Bldg 25132). All dog and cat owners living aboard Camp Pendleton must purchase a license for their pets within 30 days of acquisition or bringing the pet aboard base. The following documentation is necessary:
1. The name, address and telephone number of the sponsor.
2. The social security number, unit and unit telephone number of the sponsor.
3. The name of the animal and breed or description.
4. The animal’s rabies vaccination record/certificate.
5. The animal’s proof of spay/neuter.
6. The animal’s vaccination record for other contagious disease. (dog-DHLPP cat-RCCP)
7. The animal’s microchip information.
8. The appropriate registration fee. All license fees are subject to change. Call the Shelter for more information.

Thanks so much! Not that bad.. I might just wait to get it done at the base vet to save some money.

The base vet has great prices. You may be able to get better prices at a shelter or humane society... But their price for microchipping was the lowest I could find.
