We will be moving to base the middle of August and were recently told that instead of being on a wait list for wire mountain 1, we would be put in wire mountain 3. However, we're not sure if we should ask for a different area. We don't mind that they're older homes, but we've heard that WM3 has very small kitchens and some mold problems. We have 3 kids and a dog. Is WM2 better? What about South Mesa? Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!

WM2 isn't too bad.

I'm with SnowCrisp; consider moving to an area that lets your husband's commute be as short as possible. 

My friend lives in south mesa 1 and they are nice and big 

WM3 is one of the oldest housing developments on Camp Pendleton. They're all 1 story, but you get a huge back yard.

Of all the neighborhoods you mentioned I like WM1 or 2 the best. 

I should warn you that WM2 doesn't have a backyard; we have the dog parks instead. 

My husband works in Pulgas, so there's not a lot of housing that's available close by. Are all of the backyards in WM3 fenced in? Or can you use a tie down when you let your dog outside? 

Honestly with 3 kids & a dog, you are better off with sticking with Wire Mountain 3 or somewhere closer to your Hubbys work. WM2 doesnt really have a back yard. Not sure about WM1. South Mesa 1 has yard & they are 2-stories.

Yes they are all fenced in. But depending on how big your dog is, it can get out. Most of the fences are not all the way into the ground.

I had this issue cause my 3 pound Yorkie would get out on daily basis til we put chicken wire down in the ground by the fence. 

If he works in Pulgas, try SO. 

We have a coon hound so I'm hoping she would be too big to escape! Also, we have an upright freezer that we currently have in our laundry room. Do wm3 homes have laundry rooms or is it a laundry closet?

Ladies thank you so much! I love that we'll have a fenced in yard for our dog and kids. Everywhere else that we've looked had a decent wait list. But I'll check into SO. Thanks again!
