I post dated my rent check for the first. It was deducted from my account on the 30th. Is that allowed?

Yep! You are giving it to them on "good faith" that they will hold it until the date on the check. That's why I NEVER post date anything!

Hmm maybe call the bank to make sure. I thought they werent supposed to do that.

I had this problem once before, and I called Navy Fed and the lady told me that post dated checks can be cashed ASAP. As soon as you give that check to the debt collector, landlord or whatever they can cash it! Now a paycheck is totally different! Which makes no sense to me at all!!!!!

That is a total bummer cause last month my landlord cashed my rent check on the 26th! Way before payday so it effed with my account. Luckily I had the money in there this time but I think it just sucks!

i would just stop writing post dated checks.. thats stupid! or explain to your landlord that you have a reason for post dating it. i always just go pay them the night before the 1st. so that way they cant just go cash the check whenever. because im sure they would do something shady like that.
