It is true that Camp Pendleton only allows a 2 pet maximum in specific areas, and that those animals are required to be registered to the military base. However, I live in Wire Mountain 2 and I have a neighbor who has 4 dogs (2 Australian Sheperds, 1 Chiuaua, and a Pittbull) and a cat (at least one as far as I can tell...). That's a total of 5 pets. Obviously they haven't gotten them all registered. Pitbulls were outlawed on base and yet they still have theirs. AND IT BARKS ALL THE TIME. They also require that you pick up after your pet, and yet anyone from base will tell you that there are some very irresponsible dog owners out there. The housing districts must work together with base authority to regulate pet control. If they continue to neglect these serious issues, the responsible dog owners will be the ones who suffer. Thanks, ME

the pit coulda been grandfathered in if they did the temperment test. yes people break rules all the time!

They require a 2 pet maximum for cats or dogs... or one of each. That does not account for other animals, birds... fish.. and hamsters. Pitbulls are no longer being accepted after September of last year. The ones who are on base... have until April to be grand fathered in. This means going through testing and yada yada. If you are concerned... YOU need to call housing and complain.

Pitbulls were outlawed on base The pit/pet oridnance thing got extended. Pet owners still have some time to get them registered

Do these animals disturb you? Or is it just the barking dog? Or are you just mad that they are not obeying rules? Im confused.

YOU need to call housing and complain. I agree whole heartedly. You need to report that to housing. From what I hear, they will be told to get rid of them (the extra pets) in 24hrs or they (the tenants) will be evicted from housing.

That is tons of people that have more then 2 pets, I know someone that worked for housing and had 4.. I dont agree totally with breaking rules, however I would not report. It does not bother me

Again...my question.... Do these animals disturb you? Or is it just the barking dog? Or are you just mad that they are not obeying rules?

Pitbulls were outlawed on base and yet they still have theirs As mentioned the pitbull could be grandfathered in if it was registered at animal control on base prior to Sept. 2009. Pitbulls are no longer being accepted after September of last year. The ones who are on base... have until April to be grand fathered in. BINGO! You must have a smart neighbor who told you that! ;-) The pit/pet oridnance thing got extended. Pet owners still have some time to get them registered Incorrect wording. They can no longer register them on base, if they weren't registered at animal control by September 2009 it's too late. If they were and are grandfathered in they have until April 2010 to complete all the requirements to keep the banned breed on base (CGC, no-bite letter...etc). Photobucket
