I know the limit is 2. I'm pretty sure the people above us(in south mesa 2) have 3 dogs. Do I call housing?

ALEM --- 15 years ago -

you can....why bother?

Princess B --- 15 years ago -

Why would you?

TexasGal --- 15 years ago -

Mrs.Mommy --- 15 years ago -

ohh when you have pet friendly housing on base....and you get a new pet...do you have to inform housing?? j/w yeah u have to register the pet within 30 days.. u take the dogs records to the shelter... Then they give u a paper you take to housing

I'm filing it away for later use. I know I live in pet housing and barking goes with the territory but they leave the 3rd one out on the balcony and it barks all night and they let all 3 of their dogs poo in the grass in front of my door and they don't pick up after them. I'm not calling now, I'm going to ask them to keep the other one quiet and pick up after their dogs first but if that doesn't help, I'm calling.

Tell them if it doesnt change your gonna call housing.. Im sure if you ask them, they will fix things. Because you dont want them to have to have one of their animals taken away, regardless if they are breaking the rules

If the dogs are in good body condition, non aggressive, not obviously infested with fleas/ticks, the house/patio doesn't reek of feces, and they don't appear to be sick or suffering, why interfere in something that's none of your business? I know people who are over the limit in base housing, and I see no reason to rat them out since all of their animals are well cared for (no, I will not name names, I'm not like that). Why take an animal out of a loving home where they're well cared for and put them in a shelter just because there's "too many"? IMO, the pet limit is retarded, I can understand the reasoning behind it, but some people know their limits on how many pets they can financially and emotionally care for. Plus, they may be caring for a friend's animal, single Marines have pets and need to have them cared for when they deploy too.

Because you dont want them to have to have one of their animals taken away, regardless if they are breaking the rules I agree, I just don't like getting no sleep due to a barking puppy =/ I'm going to talk to them later tonight anyways =)

agree, I just don't like getting no sleep due to a barking puppy =/ I'm going to talk to them later tonight anyways =) hopefully its a new puppy, or one they are watching that isnt use to their house... and they can find a way to keep it quiet

Braydens Mommy --- 15 years ago -

hopefully its a new puppy, or one they I don't understand why they leave this one out there though =/ they have 2 other ones inside the house and they are always taking them out to do their business...maybe it is someone elses doggy =)

I don't understand why they leave this one out there though =/ they have 2 other ones inside the house and they are always taking them out to do their business...maybe it is someone elses doggy =) Some people, when they're watching a dog long term, will try to distance themselves emotionally from the dog so that they don't get attached. Keeping him on the balcony may be their attempts at doing that.
