For people that have had one recently....Did you have a lot of people show, and how was your stuff selling? I'm trying to decide if we should have one or not. BUT I have a lot of stuff, and don't want to go through getting everything ready, and no one showing up.... 

I think it nearly depends on the stuff you have forsale. I had a yardsale not long after moving in on base, and we made out VERY well, however, we were selling electronics, and furniture, vacume and small kitchen appliances, along with infant toddler clothes and toys. I went from 32 yardsale boxes to 7. what a nice feeling!! Good-luck!

Im doing one tomorrow so hopefully it will turn out : ) I think it just depends on how many people know about the yardsale and if its going to be near other ones so people will stop and walk to yours and other peoples.

I had asked a friend if i could have a yard sale at her house on base and she told me i have to have everything set up by 6 in the morning.. and then she told me i had to give her 15% of what i make.. so i didn't do it cuz i don't have much to sell i wouldn't have made any money that way. i need this money to buy my girls new clothes. so i decided to just do it when i move on base in September. anyway i know none of that matters i was just saying that she said i would have to be set up by 6 in the morning that was when all the regulars come around. so maybe that will help you. :S

I used to do combined garage sales w/friends and we would never try to profit off one another no matter who's place we held it at 

ya i had a garage sell a few months ago and the thought never came to either of us to do that. 

I agree that the regulars to come around SUPER early, we had our advertisement stating we would be starting at 7am and I was setting up at 5:30am and people were comming buy wanting to buy, I told them they had to come back at 7. They would ask if I had certian items, i would say yes or no and that would help them in deciding to come back or not.

Multifamily yardsales draw more people. Have it on a payday weekend and advertise! Both here and Craigslist. Big neon posterboard signs works well, too.

We were set up and ready by 7am,a neighbor and I and we faired pretty well with our things getting sold (we didn't put up any signs, but I posted it on PYS. I got a lot of people asking for uniform items and coins,whick both my husband won't give away let alone sell because they are precious to him. Hope this helps! 

I would be very interested in having a yard sale with another family. I don't have that much stuff to sale so another family would be great. I also don't have any neighbors so we have all that open space. I live in stuart mesa if interested.

I've never had a yard/garage sale, but my mom used to have them. She always put up neon poster board, had big items advertised (furniture, eletronics), and she also sold home made stuff like quilts and jam and home decor stuff which was a HUGE hit. I need to have one..ugh. Maybe next payday weekend lol. Anyways, Good Luck!!
