Ok, so we had our preinspection today and got told that this carpet that are in the homes (which is builders grade) is suppose to last for 5 years...builders grade has a shelf life of 2 years...MAX!! I was told that our carpet needed to be replaced...duh...we have 3 kids and dog and they don't consider leaving her for the last 3 years constitutes normal wear and tear..? Are they kidding me? The linoleum i understand...kids...chairs..movers...ok but the way they calculate it is this
the carpet costs 1787 so you 1787/60 x 23...the 60 is the shelf life and 23 means what is left on "their shelf life"
FYI..LPM isn't any longer considered government housing...it's privatized so the Landlord/Tenant Act for the state of california comes into play...
they are saying that we have to pay 1178...but i called housing pitched a fit and asked what is considered wear and tear normal...she said anywhere where you can see the traffic trail and the carpet is pushed down...we have that who doesn't going from the door to the kitchen, down the hallway and into the bedrooms...i even make my kids take off their shoes...im ocd when cleaning you know that :)
wow. my carpet is horrible, i had a lady come here the other day for something else and i asked her about my carpet, she asked how long i had been here, Almost two years, and she said that we didnt have to worry about our carpet.
see i think they think they can fool people...when i started saying land/tenant law he told me to call the housing office...i did..hence the maintenace manager coming..alli were u the first residents in the house?
Crap our carpet was replaced right before we moved in here...there arent many stains but I know were going to end up paying for my daughters room..Da** juice...
thats crazy we are living in our house 3 1/2 yrs and the floors in our kitchen and laundry room were nasty when we moved in. come on. and for the matter they never did a walk thru once they took over doesnt that help us out alittle??
i would make sure about the carpet kim...they said the same to one of my neighbors and my hubby and i know they didn't...also they wanted to back porch to be scrubbed ??? and the dirt leveled..are they crazy or lazy? lol
yes it should mouse but LPM is greedy... also make sure you get a copy of all the complaints you made to maintenace for repairs... for the length of time we spent here its suppose to be automatic but mrs they aren't holding to their word...did u get a name with who told you it would be nice to follow up on
See we just got our inspection list and all it says is we have to clean the appliances in the kitchen, Clean the bathrooms and Vaccum the carpet. It doesnt say anything else. I wonder if different housing areas are stricter than others..you would think they had the same rules.
i went to home depot and they said there is no way they paid the amount of money they claim...its the cheapest kind there is...we pay all this money and get the crappy type.
Yeah i read it in the scout not too long ago and even the maintenance guys said the same thing...i told hubby the next duty station he get to when he gets back from oki we need to stay for 4 years and then we will only have 3 years left....we're gonna build a house in alaska...to hell with base housing
ke- according to the paper and some of the crew...they aren't making enough money or it helps to get the extra money...this doesn't make sense since there is a waiting list like crazy...this whole base doesn't make sense
trust me the senior enlisted have...because that is where they are putting them....in enlisted housing...i thought moving on base was for safety and financial reasons why would we want to risk that?
